Friendship
There was a calm surrender walking along the pier
With a good friend to talk to, to ease away every fear
We talked about life, love and what we hold so close
Talking in gentle tones, no one had a need to boast
As we cast out a line and hoped for a bite
We chatted about our feelings, to shed a little light
There was an understanding between us both that day
Although words were spoken, we knew what each other would say
We spoke easy and wise, both of us understood
No harsh words were spoken, although we easily could
I cherish days like this, they are few and far between
We'd easily do it again someday, I know we both are keen
To get all our gear together, throw it in the ute
We'll have a day like last time, yeah I think its beaut
We all need friends to talk to, to sit and lend an ear
We all need days like that one, those days I hold so dear
So thank you my good friend for sharing a special day
And for listening to all the things, I just had to say
