Friendship
A friend is a bright sparkling mirror,
since long with pride I have hung on my wall.
It does never lie to me, I adoringly admire,
always helps me face my world at distress call.
A friend is the seamless sky over my head,
brings down sunshine and rains of need for me,
spreads out for me stardust strewn dream bed,
in daylight shows me the path I often fail to see.
When in the surging storm of life I stray far,
find no one to show me the way and take care,
a friend appears as the shining pole star,
maybe not always seen, but for me it’s there.
A friend cheers me up when I am listless,
makes my sagging spirit soar up high,
kindles the unselfish candle in dreary darkness,
helps me cross the tough terrain when I try.
A best friend is a beautiful precious gift
from benign benevolence of God’s grace I get,
I would never lose even if away I ever drift,
pray He makes me worthy of friendship at the outset.
