Friendship
I am not on my own
That is why I am writing this poem
To tell you how blessed I am
To have people in my life who give a dam
I am not talking about fair weather friends
Who leave when the good times end
I am talking about
Those who care
And want to be there
Through good times and bad
Even when they may think I am a little sad
They pick up the phone
Listen to me moan
When times seem dire
They do not tire
They help me through the mire
Giving me a lift
That is a gift
Thank you for caring
That is what I say
And never forget I will be there for you if you need me someday
