Friends That Just Are

There are some things in this world,
That just are,
That we can never fully explain,
Yet they can give us courage, enough to step outside our pain,
And see good in the world again,
Reducing the times we lose the plot,
Letting us remember what we forgot,
About what makes us happy more often than not.

Unlikely friendships that we can never explain,
That explain why some want to sing in the rain,
Just are,
And we should just accept,
Them for what they are,
Something rare that sees us care,
Enough to share our thoughts without fear,
Of being judged as not being quite all there.
