Friends of the Morning

Shimmer, sparkle, shine,
O little sea of mine,
Not deep enough to drown
In hope that you have found

Whistle, howl, and blow
O lonely wind I know;
Across the empty sky
You have so far to fly

Bending, sway and whine
O brittle tree of mine
Hang on 'til day is done,
And see the setting sun

Chatter, chirp and sing
O eager bird of spring;
Please bring a greener day
To forest, old and gray

Blinding, brightly glow
O light of day I know;
Dance 'til the morning dies,
And darkness fills your eyes.
