Friend's Amend

I want us to be friends. I want us to make amends. I want our friendship to grow. I know that you have dreams, Way, way, bigger than Monroe. I understand that you need space. So that you can move toward, Achievement at a steady pace. Many times I speak too frequently, Being unconscious of your feelings, And sometimes I can say harsh words. Again I understand that you must fly, Like a bird in the air of progress. At the same time, our friendship, Should not be at rest. Hardships, joy, tranquility, reliability, And sharing is what friendship means to me. I affirm that we have those qualities. If we walk away from what we have, We will definitely miss what was meant to be: Friends- a me and you and a you and me. I have goals that I am achieving, That are much larger than Monroe. If we’re together, We can keep each other believing, That we can go further in our lives, That our friendships can advance If we keep caring for each other, Like family- sister and brother. My feelings for you will never change, But will possibly grow, if you and I give it a chance. Who knows what will be, The result of us being close friends? It could possibly blossom, Into a sweet romance. We’ll have to wait and see, How time will make us dance. wrote summer 2004 while still in college for some friends
