Notes About The Poem

“In the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, for in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed.” - Khalil Gibran

Listen to poem:

Friendly Voice

I always want to be
Your friendly voice
The station you tune into
When you feel there's too much noise

I want to be the harbour
For your boat when there's a storm
The gentle fireside flicker
So the cold returns to warm

So often life is rocky
Or the waves can overwhelm
We need a guiding hand-hold
Or companion at the helm

You say I'm being gracious
It's not charity you see
Just love in paying forward
From that friendly voice to me

This is such a wonderful read dear Sam enhanced as always by your lovely dulcet tones! I especially love the second stanza. A real uplifting poem that’s a joy to read. Everyone needs a caring, friendly, supportive voice in their life. Your lovely poem gently highlights that. Blessings to you.

There is so much in a message from you, Christina, that brightens the day ahead. May your own day rise to meet you in blessings :))

There is nothing more soothing that a softly spoken voice when the turmoil of the world gets to be too much. Your words are both aerially pleasing to the ear, and soaked in beauty. So glad I chose to read it this morning Sam. Thank you for sharing, God bless you and your amazing talent :)
