Friend Is Not Enough
“Friend” is not Enough
If I could look into your eyes,
I’d see a sacred trust.
If I could place your hand in mine,
I’d feel a tender touch.
If I could catch your joyous smile,
And hold it in my heart.
I’d always have your laughter near,
As time takes us apart.
What do you call a kind of love,
That prays you live in peace?
That prays for joy to fill your heart,
That pain and sorrow cease.
Together we have no family ties,
What bond exists with us?
When I recall your name one day,
“Friend” is not enough.
