Friend
At the lowest moment of my life
when I was so alone,
I didn’t know just what to do
and no one’s there to turn to.
When my world seemed to stop
spinning ‘round and ‘round,
when things started to crumble down
that’s when you came around.
Friend, you were there for me,
friend, you were true;
friend, you came to ease my pain,
you came to my rescue, you were a friend.
Now I feel much stronger
ready to cope again,
the dark cloud’s disappearing,
the sun’s shining again.
I have no cause to doubt
that life becomes easier
when you’re with a faithful friend
to lift you when you’re down.
Friend, thanks, you saved me,
friend, you stood by me;
friend, you listened,
how do I repay you for being a friend.
