Friend

Do you remember an easier time,
When life was more simple,
And words were more kind.
When strangers were friends
You had not yet met,
And friendship meant loyalty
Not easy to get.
Your friends were not many
But their feelings were true
They were always nearby
To be there for you.
They kept all your secrets
Ones whispered at night
You always looked great
In their non-judgemental sight.
Friendship knows no time limit at all
It lasts for all time
Its goodwill installed
You always do your very best
To keep in their trust
And never forget
That friendship is a special bond
Saved only for those you proudly call
Friend.
