Friend

I yielded my heart’s desire Upon LOVE’s request May I have a friend, please To give alone a rest She came as a challenge Felt like a slap upon my face A year of serving LOVE In every moment, there was Grace Again, I asked for the same This time, friend had a different name They came in moments of need Undefined before connection LOVE unearthed abundance Previously experienced as rejection Though grateful and following I had nothing to hold and treasure Always aware of who I am Truth’s presence rarely brings pleasure Then, came you, compassionate flow Watering hope, helping it expand and grow I love the innocence of your heart Glowing with pink fragrant petals Allowing the dream of FRIEND To shape and settle ….longing Written by Trudy Schrader for Gayle (my god is joy) on 06-04-2022
