Freeze That Motion

Today I smile upon my plight Praise God I’m in the mood to write I feel like a dog with a big juicy bone Like the other Michael Jordan I’m in a zone This morning I awoke and I could see I’m making my own mark in history I’ll never have his wealth or fame But I add my own style to our name I’m less like him and more like the ball It’s my nature to bounce back when I fall I gotten years of flack over the name Because I’m a true fan of his game He is pure poetry in motion Like the waves rolling in off the ocean And God gifted me the ability To freeze that motion in poetry Dedicated to the man that made my name famous. What a truly amazing person he is. What a gift to the fans of basketball.

Hello Michael...Not sure how I missed this, but another awesome write. Yes I'm sure you have heard his name linked to yours all your life....however, we don't know him or his heart...but we do know yours!! And you have a heart of gold...aren't we lucky that you are the one we have learned to know??!!! Blessings ~ Carrie

Where was I? So sorry I missed this Michael. What a treat! I love this awesome well written tribute, but do you want to know something funny? When I hear the name Michael Jordan, I don't think of the famous basketball star anymore. I think of you. My favorite verse "I'm less like him and more like the ball It's my nature to bounce back when I fall". An amazing write and thoughtful dedication. Love, Shar

Yep! Jordan was my favorite too, even when he was playing Detroit....such determination! About the poem...Yes, Cronus was the Father of Zeus, thus Father of the Gods in ancient Greece. the Greeks have always fascinated me. Love, Daver

Mike this is excellent. I was away for a while and was ill after my trip to China. Thereafter, I went back to studying and helping the elderly with their taxes. This is a break for me; hopefully, I will be doing some new forms in the near future. Great job! ~Joseph

He should now dedicate something to you for giving the name integrity and art. Wonderful form and flow to this one and I believe you may have more than he. Michael

Michael this is an excellent Praise and dedication poem... I'd say that both MJ's are poetry in motion, one with the ball and the other with the pen :-) Thank you for sharing a most enjoyable read, and for your supportive critiques. God's Love and Many Blessings, Always, Adell

I love poetry that acknowledges the Creator! Thanks for the comment on my poem....yes I wrote it purely out of my frustration, and not for good poetry writing. I am not a poet at all, but it sure is a nice way to get out one's feelings isn't it!

you mean your not him? I knew that only joking. my son is a big basketball fan oh his. he has his Rookie card. Which i bought for him in a package of cards for 75 cents, it is now worth over 1,000 dollars. if you want to invest your money sports cards it where to go. He was a great player as you are a great poet and don't know it. loved this poem and thank you for reading my poetry and for your comments
