Freedom's Sacrifice

Your pleadings vanquished in thin air
From the clamor of conflicts long ago
O’ to be the victor over death
Yet the grief inside; yours to know
You sacrificed for freedom sake
Stood your ground most resolute
Your splendor set before the dawn
The suffering now yours to rebuke

The title caught my attention. There are many in this world fighting for our freedom. My heart is thankful for all those who strive to keep us safe. Your thoughts touch me deeply. ~ Brandy
