Freedom, Made of Awesome, Part I
It seems far too many kids these days
mouth blind support for socialist ways,
some poisoned by teachers malign,
most just blind to lessons of time,
forgetting one hundred million dead,
poverty, gulags, and those who bled,
or not learning of these things at all,
thinking they answer ‘history’s call,’
worst still those who see it as a trend,
and go along so they’ll not loose friends,
but in truth, when all is said and done,
it’s freedom that is made of awesome…
Deciding yourself what you will say,
when you will say it, and in what way,
it’s a sacred truth to speak you mind,
and from it many lessons you’ll find,
not to mention calling out the fools,
the good, the bad, the saints, the cruel,
whether it be stern or quite absurd,
there’s great power in choosing yours words;
And defining how you see this Earth,
choosing the faith that you think has worth,
finding your own path to understand
the questions still elusive to man,
never fearing that your choice in God
may just get you murdered by the law;
And press freedom means something much more
than all those big propaganda whores,
it roots your life in a solid ground
by freeing you to write it all down,
so our thoughts are more than just our own,
so others can live out what we’ve known,
and when the time comes and we’re long gone
in those words part of our mind lives on;
We can even make the ground tremble
when we choose to freely assemble,
whether it’s for fun or for a cause,
there’s no limit, it is up to us;
Owning clear pieces of property,
fruits of our own labor, earned rightly,
gained through exchange, and not through strife,
what we need to build a healthy life,
the free market system, have no doubt
is what brings the prosperity out;
Protecting yourself by bearing arms
against tyrants or criminal harm,
able to stand and protect yourself,
and safeguard your family as well,
instead of waiting round to die,
when truly threatened you still can try
to protect your rights and remain free,
the true expression of sovereignty;
Then there’s the fact we get to vote,
something that so many never know,
it our leaders strike us as a joke,
chuck them out and find another bloke,
or a woman, if she’s any good,
and if they do not do what they should
then replace them, and try again,
the power must lie in many hands,
in some state power makes people hurt,
but free people demand that it serves...
CONCLUDES IN PART II.
