Freedom

gone is the wind that held my trust pushed away by the sounds of empty promise
holding onto this rope of make believe i climbed up the mountain of serenity
reaching the peak i looked up seeing the stars that marked my destiny
with eyes closed tight i stretched my arms towards the sky and i took a leap of faith
these feelings of torment falling from my shoulders i spread my wings with grace
whispers of freedom reach my ears and a sweet taste fell upon my tongue
gentle was the breeze that helped me soar through the endless nightmares
with eyes still closed i heard a voice scream my given names
this feeling of freedom i cant let pass i refused to look
the ground was the last thing i felt and its the closing of this book
