Freedom

I continue to circle this box
searching for the light.
Round and round I ago
Is it day or is it night?

I've built this empire and
worked so hard.
I'm the face of the people
Aren't you proud?

Thank you! Thank you!
The box just opened.
I was starting to get weak
and slowly so broken.

Nobody can live secluded this way.
I don't care how strong
you'll start to pray.
On your knees, hands to the sky
Begging for reasons you've been
stuck here, Why?

So that I can breathe and
stretch my legs, what should
I do, I beg and beg.
It seems there is a plan
for me to follow
Yet no instructions
I'm lost and hollow.

I'm famous, its nice
but sometimes quiet scary.
When I'm recognized
I need to be carried.

Yet I can not complain
I've become part of your life
I hope when you see me
I don't bring you strife.

Maybe I should settle down
Marry a beauty,
Its no fun to sail alone
Life has hard duties.

Better with a partner
Friends hand and hand
Always there to cheer you on
Making life more grand.

Rhyme is definitely not a stretch for you kristen, so it doesn't fit the contest> IT IS a good poem. Try a Shakespearian sonnet 10 syllables per line, 14 lines with end rhyme look on ehow.com for a good explanation.
