Freedom

Battles waged on foreign shore
Brave soldier tis no more
Young adventuresome lad
Relinquished valor all he had

Engraved script, chiseled track
Humble words on ebon plaque
“Here he lay, this noble knave
Honorable tis life he gave”

Danced on edge of sword
Freedom an ultimate reward
Somber elegy, tethered to stone
Countryman’s name unknown

Tattered flag proudly wave
 Lofty wafts upon a grave
Glorify red, white and blue
Call of duty heroes ensue
