Free At Last

FREE AT LAST!

This body went through many things
Of ailments that were great,
And many had to do for me
And there upon me wait.
I didn’t get to church that much,
And though I sat in back,
It felt so good to feel God’s love,
That surely is a fact.
But now my body’s left behind
To go back to the dust;
My spirit now lives with the Lord
Who one day I did trust.
Yes, “Free at last!” I shout above,
I know you sorrow there,
Just trust the Lord like I had done,
And He will give His care.
You’ll see me some day once again,
A new life you’ll begin;
I pray you know the Son of God
Who died to save from sin.
Then you, too, can be with me there
With all your sorrows past
And shout like me forever more,
“Thank God, I’m free at last!”

In memory of a friend who had many health problems before he passed away.

Love this poem and its meaning. I don't understand the hatred of Christians I see elsewhere here.

A touching tribute to your friend, Clarence! It's wonderful to know that if you belong to Jesus you need never fear death. Blessings, Kim
