Fraternal Twins
I am softer out of that younger skin,
now decorated with freckled fine lines.
My old reflection is my fraternal twin.
Bringing to my face an impish grin
wisdom let’s you alter the guidelines.
I am softer out of that younger skin.
No longer hard but I know how to win,
bruises will heal never showing signs.
My old reflection is my fraternal twin.
Each mark a tattooed place I’ve been
colorful and playful without confines.
I am softer out of that younger skin.
Weaker before my leg was broken,
it took all I had to sit on the sidelines.
My old reflection is my fraternal twin.
Left ear’s got a hole with a safety pin
the place where the total vision aligns.
I am softer out of that younger skin,
my old reflection is my fraternal twin.
