Frankies Story
I had a good friend his name was Frank
We went to the same public school
He was always fun and a big class clown
But the teachers labelled him a fool
At recess time it was baseball time
And Frank could hit that ball a country mile
And he would round the bases like a cheetah unleashed
And wear the biggest smile.
Then one day at school Frank never showed
It seemed weeks before he returned
His face was bruised and beaten
He even had some burns
He quit playing baseball at recess
He hid under a tree and cried
His grades fell below failing
And the smile had left his eyes
In years that past Frank disappeared
Rumors said he was mentally disturbed
But if you knew Frank the way he used to be
You would never believe those words
Then one Day Frank was without money
And he robbed a bank with a plastic gun
And he hid outside in the bushes
Instead of trying to run.
The police refused to charge him
If he gave the money back
But they placed him in a home for good
And he never did come back
So parents learn this lesson
Should you decide to abuse your child
You can forever change a normal life
To one that loses its will to smile.
