Fragile Ego

self, be not overly full of yourself,
as fragile as crystal in a glass shelf,

             which, at the slightest imagined offense,
             recoils, sulks in resentful, vain defense

of your self-image that easily shatters,
so effortlessly tricked by flatterers.
