Notes About The Poem

Barbara will always be with me, in death, as she was in life. We will meet again in Heaven

Four Months Ago

Four Months Ago

On that evening, four long months ago
Lord, You came and took my wife
You relieved her of the misery
She was going through in life

She fought the cancer, valiantly,
Yet the cancer made her pay
God, You in all Your wisdom,
Came and took her soul away

Although I longed to keep her
In my care from day to day
It would have been too selfish of me
If she was with me in that way

I thank you God for taking her
And relieving her of strife
And for the more than fifty years
You let me have her as my wife

I can't imagine otherwise
Of how life would have been
Thank you God for sending Jesus
To forgive us of our sin

Now she's with You up in Heaven
I am still here down on Earth
Please guide me with Your loving hand
Let me continue to have worth

Let me live by Your example
Spread the love she left with me
When I pass take me to Heaven
Where together we will be

Amen,
Thank you Jesus

A really lovely poem Franklin...Loved ones are always within us in our hearts. May your wife rest in peace and may God give you the strength to be strong! Have a great day!
