Four Directions

Candles burn at the four corners
air
earth
water
fire

and I observe the joined hands
as the corners are called in while the circle is drawn
it's inexplicable
feeling a part of this delicious time in space
as I dedicate myself to Gaia
her comfort
wraps itself around my shoulders
whispering
"you are not alone" and other such reassuring utterances

we are a part of her
children under the sun and
children at one with the water
breathing in the purity of air
while set on fire with the lust for life.
