Fot That Was the Day

For That Was The Day

The sun was shining bright
The flowers were all in bloom
The grass was green and sharp
It was early afternoon

The birds sang beautifully
In the sky not a cloud
The air was warm and breezy
The noise light and mild

A rabbit hopped for pleasure
The trees were full of leaves
From one flower to another
A butterfly flew with ease

Seemed like a perfect day
Yet that wasn’t meant to be
For that was the minute
You were taken away from me

For an instant the skies turned dark
If only in my mind
Escape from this pain
There was no way to find

Yet in the beauty of the day
My head was hanging low
Lost in the corner of my mind
I had nothing left to show
