Fortyeight Bars An Ode To Hip Hop

Fortune tell what you sell all day,
Or what you play to please the crowd,
Regurgitating what is loud,
To stay with a lucrative pay.
Yet, there exists another way.
Each cliche may not lay so proud;
Intelligence, creating clouds,
Gaining ground with the words they spray.
Have respect for your form of art,
Taking time to perfect your rhymes.
Bring your best from the very start,
Always showing up right on time.
Reach deep inside to top the charts,
Showing that you are worth your dimes.
