Forsythia

A few yellow blossoms opened
The strong forsythia survives
Fog has slowly dissipated
But damp on the magnolia thrives

There was no way of knowing how
Rains would pour from dark cloudy skies
Then a blast of cold would assault
Gold blooms brought to a quick demise

Overnight stormy skies poured rain
Those pink buds on star magnolia
Spread forth to sing a soft refrain
But now's time for dampness like Noah's

A threat of tornadoes announced
The harshest of storms passed us by
Other threat now linger in the air
Will worldly goods take to the sky~ fly?

Only God knows the future
What will happen today is unknown
One thing I know is He loves us
He wants your heart for His home

We had daffodil shoots and crocuses peeping through the soil in December ... it seems spring is arriving early everywhere - so lovely to see the forsythia with its glorious golden colour but the frosts and snow will soon put paid to its early arrival:-( hugs jan xx

Jan, We are still having rain with the treat of tornadoes..We have not had the cold that they predicted to follow all this rain..It might still come for it is still winter..However, I have seen years like this in the past where it is a very mild winter..It has something to do with el nino' or el nina..Thanks for the visit to my page..Sara

Thanks for the visit to my page..I hope that it is a sign of spring but it is too early for spring so I guess we need a few more weeks of winter like weather..There have been years in the past when we had very mild winters and this must be one of them..Sara

Forsythia survives to blossom with yellow colour. Fog disappears but brings emotion. Expectation of gold bloom comes in mind with imagery. Very pleasing and a nice poem is shared here. ...7
