Forgotten

No one would care if I disappeared No one would care if I wasn't here No one sees the tears I cry No one sees that I'm dying inside I blend into the background I don't stand out Easily forgotten Another face in the crowd I matter to no one No one thinks about me I have made no difference No one sees me I don't want pity I want to be loved I want my life to have meaning I feel so alone

Very Moving. The situation spans all age groups. The many I see visiting a nursing home. One woman holds a stuffed, soiled rabbit. Saying nothing as I greet her. She doesn't know me. Maybe she doesn't know anyone, family or friend. Old men in baseball caps and shirts with logos, from Goodwill. No meaning to them, sit in wheel chairs scowling at their flat screen televisions. A new show now that age has erased their young man memory bank. Good Work.
