Forgetful Days of Aunt Mary

Forgetful days of Aunt Mary It no longer holds what it use to hold And even if it could it's lost its glow Don't sing that song of love to me Gone, gone, old memory You say I've fallen but I will get up That everyone has down on luck I no longer live in the glory days That use to be Gone, gone old memories Today the sun shines into the room And outside the flowers bloom I sometimes see and live beyond this tomb So old friends come see me now Let's smile again, show me how Let's look into the sun again But don't ask me to remember when Gone, gone stole from me Those beautiful memories. 12-8-2016 Alzheimer

Lovely poem and yes Alzheimer's is one terrible thief - I like the way the poem is broken up with it not wholly being repetitious - make us fall in love with dear Aunt Mary - Bless her . . .
