Forever's Song

The silent notes float in the breeze
from so far, for so long
they rustle through ancient trees
they are forever's song.
As I stare at the setting sun
over the scarlet sea
I think I hear a single note, just one
and I know it was only for me.
If you listen closely, you will hear
I have been waiting so long
these are the notes I hold so dear
the silent whispers of forever's song.

What an honor to be the first to comment on this magnificent verse. You touched the heart of this old wordsmith with your creative poem.... You'll find, if you care to look, that you and I use ink from the same bottle. Your pen handles your talent really well..... I will read more.... dynamite read.... Jake
