FOREVERMORE

FOREVERMORE

A brilliant stone
She shone
Just beyond the shore
More perfect pure
And precious
Than any seen before
Leave her be
The cold sea plea
For I have many more
Leave her sleep
The sands grow deep
Another's hand
Not yours
Lose your dreams
Of precious things
Love will not afford
At your feet
The stones there weep
And lie
Forevermore

ADDENDUM

The Sun and tide
Has stole their lure
Like you
They dreamed
Beyond their reach
And all were swept aside
They breached the shore
Too soon to find
How so many tried
And now
Upon the beach
Like you
They forever lie
