Forever -- One Day At a Time
I won't promise to love you forever --
I can't quite see that far.
We can only live one day at a time
As we reach for that distant star.
But, life won't pass us by --
And we'll drink of love's sweet wine
As long as we remember --
Forever is just one day at a time.
Life gives us one day at a time
And, nothing lasts forever.
So, I'm thankful for the love we share
And the time we have together.
So, when this life is over,
We'll live in a poet's rhyme
That simply tells those left behind --
Forever is just one day at a time.
