Forever Love

It took faith to climb each temple tread Bent on belonging to each other forever. It took love's yearning to subdue dread And start a trip to the off-ramp of never. Could we have known that ordained day We quiz ourselves now decades hence. Would we have had the strength to say "I do" and "I do" with feeling as intense? I look into my love's eyes, kiss her cheek. She nods, lays her head on my shoulder. Thus sweetly shown is the answer we seek, Trials only make love stronger, not older.
