Forever Grown

I have to look deep into your eyes I have to make you see What you haven't yet been able to find I have to make you realize As I have That our love has with stood the test of time Through the years it's been the love You showed me that in the end left me aching for more than what I had The way you could say hello and made me feel like my world was not all so bad The way you looked at me Our loved ones weren't blind the could see The feelings we had for each other What we felt The way you held me in your arms Always made me melt The way you'd kiss my lips So soft and tender None could I resist And yes I would surrender The way you made me feel those nights Either talking on the phone or laying by each others side All was perfect everything so right The way I felt when we said goodbye I knew it was wrong But I also knew I had to try to be strong The way all this time we'd each thought from this we'd moved on And it's true the past is what it is And those moments are forever gone I don't think either one of us however has completely moved on from a damn thing This was more that teenage puppy love It was surely more than a fling Yes you are the only man Who's always made my heart sing Then there's the way We are where we are today No one wants to be alone or blue But that's what I'll take if I can't be with you Yes for so long now what we had together seemed to lose sight But look into my eyes now Do you see I'm standing before you And for this love between us ready to fight I still believe in all we had years before I believe that now we can give each other more You've opened and then locked behind you a door Within there is my heart my soul I gave it to you freely and so willingly And today you still hold the key You also still have the control You never had to work hard to have it It was meant to be that way It was meant to fit And it will never fray You never had to try at all You would just look deep into my eyes Never was there a need between us to have to compromise Somehow I guess you can say I've always known Our love could never die but it has forever grown
