Forever Doesn'T Always Mean Forever

Forever doesn't always mean forever
Sometimes it's just an uttered word
Uttered over and over and over again
Promises of a love that will never change
But sometimes only a broken heart remains
And tears shed in shame
Because you find it wasn't true
You find you were naïve
Cuz forever wasn't forever after all
Forever only lasted a little while
The truth is, forever doesn't always mean forever
Sometimes forever is just an uttered word
Uttered over and over and over again
Us trying hard to convince ourselves
Convince ourselves that forever means forever
Because we all want a forever
But forever doesn't always mean forever
Sometimes forever only lasts a little while
Sometimes forever leaves a broken heart
