Forever

Forever isn’t very long
In fact it’s short you see
It lasted only seven years
Then it was done for me

That’s how long you loved me
I thought it should be more
But no it lasted seven years
Yet you said forever more

You found yourself another
Was it forever with him too
It seems to get even shorter
This forever time with you

This time a year it lasted
Until you said goodbye
His forever it was gone
In the twinkling of an eye

I’ll never use this word again
Now I know how long it lasts
Forever is not my future
I’m leaving it in the past

From your poem it seems 'forever' gets shorter and shorter Robert - my 'forever' is currently 27 years so I'm doing pretty well:-) hugs Jan xx
