Forever

Forever.

Forever’s not forever.
It took forever for me to see.
Only nothing lasts forever.
At least it seems that way to me.

We spend forever looking.
For our forever one.
But long before forever.
Forever is all done.

When love starts out forever.
We need our lovers touch.
But when forever’s over.
It hurts just too damn much.

So then we vow forever.
Alone is what we’ll be.
That’s the only time forever.
Feels like eternity.

But our hearts long forever.
Crying out to God above.
To find someone forever.
To be their forever love.

Then we search forever.
To find the one we seek.
Only to find forever.
Lasts no more than a week.

Forever’s not forever.
It took forever for me to see.
Only nothing lasts forever.
At least it seems that way to me.
