Forests and Stars

I carried my longbow

Into twilight

Amongst trees

That whispered and sighed

And welcomed the night

In the reflected glow

I looked up to the stars

To the constellations

That I came to know

I traced a finger down the wings

Of my longbow

Felt it course through

I had the meanings

For the inlaid eagle

Shared a name too

Of stars

Of constellations

Of eagles

Of a longbow

Of a name

Of me

Aquila……..

In the firelight

Of stars bright

Aquila shone

In a forest wood

I now understood

Forest and stars

Firelight

Star bright

An eagle in the night sky

Arrows to fly

This is so lovely and strong. The imagery is amazing. Very powerful. So many symbols of Spirit and strength are expressed here. You are a gifted writer! Very nice. Smiles from Lolita
