Forest
It was late at night,
without any moonlight.
I had a poor eyesight
in the deep darkness
that blended with silence
that befit the forest goddess.
(Dry leaves began to break-
I stood still)
Our ancestors believed that a faceless
man wandered around the forest,
looking for a mischievious god
who stole his face.
The man was loved by the forest goddess.
He was banished from his land,
without any reason or word
from the council of elders.
Every villager was afraid
of the cosmic builders,
who had immortality as their essence.
(Dry leaves continued to break-
I began to tremble with fright)
My parents had warned me not to wander
into the forest, without a scout
or guide. I deeply regretted my choice
to get into the forest.
(A whisper repelled my courage!)
"What are you doing here,
descendant of the forest goddess?!"
I heard from behind.
