Forces of Nature

I'll fall upon you like the darkness of night
With a thunderous spirit as you observe my jolting might
Bringing a rain that carries a peace
Washing away the heartache and allowing its release

You'll feel my presence like the flood waters rising
Like a gust through the treetops and a flash of lightning
Powerful and frightening while beautiful and unexpected
You won't see me coming yet you'll be glad to have witnessed

I'll travel ever so quietly by the way of the eye
Lingering softly in the storm clouds passing by
As you wait out the storm and prepare for the worst
I'll hit you with with relief but fear you'll feel first

Once all is done and the sun comes out
I will be there in the winds that die down
You'll see me there in the violet ray of a rainbow
Igniting a warmth as the calm envelopes you

I do not have a side; I am neither good or bad
I cannot be subdued nor detoured from my path
I am a force who receives her power from the Earth
I have grown in the bayou nights and Louisiana dirt

A soul enriched by the truest of means
Growing stronger each day; taking flight by her dreams
Unstoppable, untamable, not frightened in the least
This storm that I am riding, it flows through my veins

When the fury of a category 5 is what lies in your soul
An E7 would be the only match to which she would fold
The two, together, raging through the world
Two souls captivated by the strength and weakness that the other holds

No need to wait for me, for you cannot predict
From which way or by which night your life I will hit
Just as I will not wait or watch for you in the skies
For you will too will rush upon me in the least expected of times
Casting an unrelentless love upon me as our forces combine
Two hearts created through life's storms and two souls intertwined
