For This, They Gave Their Lives

Saw a poll today about World War Two
Seems 30% of Americans now question
Our fight against Adolf Hitler's drive for
World domination, for control of me and you

Age group 30-44 drove the results
How developed such a grievous insult

Could it possibly be
that our schools no longer teach
the truth about the 20th Century

Have our teachers turned so radical left
that of disgust for Adolf Hitler they are bereft

It's Memorial Day, 2021, to honor those who gave their lives ~
so that civilians would be free to promote this egregious, repulsive jive

I am disgusted by Adolf H but I have not turned radical; I am not sure what is happening but I do believe "the dumbing down of the country" is complete.

1) shut the universities down. 2) raise the voting age to 30. 3) line them up against a wall and... sod it... 1 and 2 will do for starters. A good, intense and profound write, Gershon. Terry

What can one expect from a society which lauds war, murder, mayhem, and racism, yet prohibits "pornography" as just seeing people displaying affection for one another - especially those with a different skin colour - could be the ruination of life as we know it?

I couldn't agree more, G.W. I'm hearing so much rubbish coming out of our schools these days. When I taught social studies, it was a whole different thing than it is today. We need sanity returned to our classrooms. We need teachers who teach the facts, not indoctrinate with conspiracy theories half-baked ideologies! See, there, you've got me started!

Splendid write, Gershon. Alas, our youth are being taught balderdash in schools today. Thankfully, I don't have kids in school today (except for my 4 great grandsons) - if I did they would be enrolled in religious schools that I understand still teach some semblance of sense! Keep on educating us with your very insightful verse - Bob H

Oh I do so agree with you my friend. My dad fought in both the Korean War and in WW11. He saw a lot that marked him for the rest of his life. He lost many friends. And these spoiled brats that never knew what war is want to condemn good men and women who fight for their right to be stupid. God Bless my friend. JB

Surely man's Stupidity knows no bounds. The Greatest Generation is rolling over in their graves. Thanks, Judy. Take care.
