For the Love of Them

Grief is the price you pay for love of them
When their final journey is at its end
And as a tear rolls down your cheek
It’s love and grief that will finally meet

And remember them as they were
On any day that might occur
For they are tied to you
In the things you say and do

And there will be a time again to meet
As you run to each other as you greet
For time is such a fleeting thing
From where things are given and others you bring.
