For the Love Of?

A man and his monkey getting quarters for a show.
Little children, with their shovels, earning money if it snows.
A boy shouting headlines on the corner for a dime.
While the pickpocket, with his hands cuffed, is about to do time.
And amidst all this hustle of the money, is the greed
which was implanted in all men as a candy - coated seed.
It was told, "if you earn", you'll be happy when you're old,
but in fact you'll die young with no use for your gold.
So, don't hoard and don't sweat and don't lust for the green.
Enjoy your time left with the people that mean
so much in your life. Their true value is more
than any dollar you've made or dreamed of before.
