For the Longings of a Heart

Within my moon lit courtyard.
When night, is late and dark.
The raven comes to sit with me.
And tempts me to embark.

Upon a journey that entails.
The mind and hand and heart.
To walk a road, once tread before.
That can leave a dreadful mark.

But deep inside I hear the song.
And know that gentle spark.
That caresses all that lives in me.
And touches mind and heart.

So if the winds of wisdom.
Blow softly in the dark.
Then walk this road again, I might.
For the longings of a heart.
