For Now

I hope you still read these.
I hope you still need me.

Ironically, I've slept a lot today.
An hour here, two hours there.
Must be because my body knows
I will not sleep tonight.
Must be trying to protect me.

Every expression on the face of the clock can be linked to you.
Seconds, hours,
Remembered, shared.
This time last week, last night.

Every lyric was written for you,
Of us, and bears such a striking resemblance to the truth.
Until we can start the tune again, know that
You will be in every note, each line and phrase.

And for a silent scandal's sake
You can have this heart to break.
