For my God and my mom and dad
Today I was at last able to see
the broken children playing house
As I studied that little girl and boy
I found the same in me
Though trying so hard not to reinfect
I caused other wounds of my own
Caught up in the rip tide of cause and effect
She swam for the shore alone
I take that back but for Gods love
Our heroine would surely have sank
So praise I offer from my hearts very depth to HE
Who pulled me to the bank
And opened my eyes to the truth of all things
Unclutching my heart from this pain
Releasing my grip taking my hand in his
watching his loyal merciful love rain
