For My Dreams

For My Dream:

In silent splendor I found you, standing all alone
I now hope that someday I may call you my own.
Majestically you stand there in pure deep fallen snow,
I can only hope to dream of the places we could go.
No other in eternity has struck my heart with such hold,
Is dreaming you are mine a thought that is too bold.
Are the dreams I have for us futile and wasted time,
Too much for me to dream that you could honestly be mine.
For some dream of love and riches or a home with splendor grand,
I dream of a treasured horse, your mane twisted in my hand.
I close my eyes and we are racing across the pastures of emerald green,
Then I slowly awake and find it all a dream.
A dream worthy of all time however as your beauty can not be compared,
And someday a brilliant sunset will find us standing there.
Brilliant fading hues of the Savior painted evening sky,
Will kiss us both as we gaze upon the beauty from on high.
I have faith in the dream that someday I will own this stallion so grand,
Painted steel grey and black by the Masters hand.
Everything I would give for my hearts desire,
The stallion and the dreamer will soon be silhouetted by a night fire.
                                                 Christy Miller
For the stallion Hilltop’s Memorial Day
