For Joe
I listen to your snoring
And I can’t believe my ears,
I haven’t felt this comfortable
In far too many years.
Your gentle breath upon my neck
Calms my very soul,
It’s hard to see days without you,
This peace is seldom known.
You’ve brought me through
Some of life’s rougher times,
You’ve loved me more, now
That I’m not living those lies.
I’m allowed to be who I really am,
Someone I never really knew,
And I thank you for showing me it’s OK
To be in love with you.
