Notes About The Poem

We can never appreciate our military volunteers too much.

For God and Country

For God and Country

We're here for God and Country
Our military people say
Swear an oath to protect and serve
Maybe give their lives some day

Uphold the Constitution
Keep our nation's people free
Be endangered, all around the world
To protect our country; you and me.

To serve is not required
All there are volunteers
No draft contributes to the lot
Listen, open up your ears

Have respect for all of them
Be thankful every day
For our military family
Who keep the enemy at bay

Were it not for all of them
Who have served us from the start
We would not have our freedoms
So please thank them from your heart
