For Friends
Friends I have, I know they’re here.
Lester, Don, Jeff & Pat, yes you’re here.
Oh yes, Chris & Rusty, Ron & Gilbert.
Many times we laughed and hurt.
Those days, I wish, I long for again.
There’s nothing better than a friend.
The words, “those days”, bring me pain.
God, how I want it to be the same.
Why Pat died, I’ll never know.
I only wish he didn’t go.
The more I write, the more I hurt.
Our friendships were, all too short.
I want my friends to talk with.
Please stop, stay, and be with.
Remember Blue, Sand and Sun?
God remembers all our fun.
Why did we stop so soon? We were young.
We had so much more to live, we had just begun.
Yes, deaths are things hard to deal.
Bob is not dead, he’s just not real.
I miss my friends, as I hope, they me.
I didn’t name them all, as you can see.
Jody & Von, Lynda & Chuck.
Where are you now?, with lots of luck!
