For Father Delisle

Only knew you from a distance Though you spoke to me sometimes, And I realized in an instance, That for everyone, you made time. You touched the hearts of so manly souls, With your kindness and your care, And let your own pain take its toll, To give the needy their share. Never did anyone hear you complain, Of your own struggles with your pain, Even at a distance I could see, Your purpose in life was to teach and love thee. You gave so much love to the tired and the old, To the residents of the Manor you were "gold." Everyone who knew you, in their hearts they will hold, The memory of the kindest man, for their hearts, you stole.

I wish I could have shared it with his relatives. I did not know any of them. But I am sure they all knew what a wonderful human being he was.
